Achilleas Kyriakopoulos is a mechanical engineer with over 20 years of hands-on experience in operation, production, and environmental health and safety (EHS), working with multinational companies.

Achilleas Kyriakopoulos is a mechanical engineer with over 20 years of hands-on experience in operation, production, and environmental health and safety (EHS), working with multinational companies across the aluminum, cement, energy, oil and gas, and energy storage sectors. He had the privilege to be part of ALUMIL, TITAN, ELPEDISON, and currently SUNLIGHT’s team, contributing with my dedication, engagement and knowledge in challenging, demanding and interesting times. His professional journey began as a quality engineer and evolved through roles including Health and Safety Manager, Cement Grinding Manager, Operation Section Manager, and presently, Senior Operation Manager. Early in his career, while still a student, he gained valuable experience working with the Greek Public Power Company (PPC) and British Energy.
Achilleas Kyriakopoulos has led many initiatives either to reduce energy consumption or to apply sustainability schemes. Notable projects include the 2020 upgrade of a Combined Cycle Power Plant to improve efficiency and lower CO₂ emissions, the installation of variable frequency drives (VFDs) on large motors, the replacement of conventional lighting with LED panels, and the modernization of air conditioning systems by introducing inverter-based technology to reduce energy use.
