Zoi Mylona is an Electrical Engineer specialising in energy efficiency, energy flexibility, and sustainable energy technologies. She holds an M.Eng. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as an MSc in Sustainable Energy Technologies from Brunel University London, where she also completed a PhD (EPSRC-funded) focused on optimising the energy performance of building systems.
Her research career began at Brunel’s Institute of Energy Futures, where she contributed to EU- and UK-funded projects (EPSRC, H2020, Marie Curie) on smart energy systems and data-driven optimisation strategies for buildings. She later joined the Decision Support Systems Lab at the National Technical University of Athens, working on projects supporting the energy transition in the building sector.
Her work focuses on enhancing the built environment through innovation and digitalisation strategies, by developing and applying solutions that integrate ICT tools, AI-based analytics, and simulation models for energy optimisation and flexibility. She has worked on the implementation of demand-side management strategies and the development of user-centric services aimed at improving energy use and flexibility.
As of July 2024, she is R&D Manager of the Applied R&D team in the Energy Management Department at HERON Energy S.A., where she contributes to innovation efforts for the development of advanced energy services.
